The Live Sessions:

The Marques Carroll Quintet embarked on a journey in 2024 to record a set of albums that would be the most spontaneous work the band has done to date, while also honoring the Chicago Jazz community, highlighting the most renowned Jazz Clubs in the city.  When one thinks of the Chicago Jazz Club experience, these four clubs sit at the top of the list as places to experience modern day Jazz; Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, The Green Mill and Winter’s Jazz Club.  

The first of two live double disc albums include recordings from Winter’s Jazz Club and Andy’s Jazz Club.  Each album showcases two different configurations of the Marques Carroll Quintet, which in turn makes each album unique in its own way.  The band mixes arrangements of songs by some of Carroll's favorite artists, while also expanding on previously recorded tracks from his first two albums and several new compositions that the band has been working on for over a year.  

The listener will get the chance to experience the live club feel and depth that Marques and his bandmates typically explore when they are in the club doing what they do best.  Sit back and enjoy the vibrations.
